I dont know what to do anymore, I want to ask doctors advise regarding post gastric sleeve , my husband had done it and now its been almost 22 days, and as I can see he looks very pale and he says he is feeling so weak, and really he looks so sick… iam crazy worried about all of this.
He as an abnormal craving of ice food, ice milk but he refuses to eat solid food, today as he is so weak to stand he pass stool on his pants and when he reaches to the bathroom, I see the base of the toilet bowl has black color stool, does this mean he has bleeding inside him? or iam just thinking so much negative , please please I really need help, he dont like to go back to his doctor. I would be gratefull if you can give me a guide on what is now happening.
After a gastric sleeve procedure you are advised to not take solids for a period of time. Gradually your husband should progress to solids and through a process of trial and error will know what he can tolerate. Constipation is a common symptom post-gastric sleeve. It is important to keep hydrated with at least 2 litres of water a day, and to choose some high fibre food choices when they can be tolerated.
I hope this helps. Sorry about the delay in responding, I have been away. I am a dietitian and psychologist, not a doctor.
I would advise you strongly to consult your doctor if your husband continues to experience problems.
